Event Details

From June 1–July 31 the Central Virginia Watercolor Guild will be exhibiting water-media art on the second floor in the new building of The Center, located at 540 Belvedere Blvd. in Charlottesville. Water-based media refers not only to transparent watercolor, but also to acrylic, gouache and watercolor pencil. The membership is inclusive of art accomplishments from beginners to known art instructors and award winners. From its inception in 1991, CVWG has had monthly meetings with art demonstrators, watercolor workshops, a members’ art library, critiques of members’ works, and has provided opportunities to exhibit art throughout Central Virginia. Through the activities provided by CVWG, artists have been able to help one another in their art journeys in an environment of camaraderie and creativity. As a 501(c3) non-profit, its goals are to foster the advancement and study of all forms of water-media painting, to educate the public about the use of water-media, to promote high levels of excellence in water-media painting and to provide an exchange of information about the artists that work in these media.

Although there will be no opening reception, the public is invited to see the exhibit Mon.-Fri. 8:30am–4pm, however, masks must be worn while in the building. For more inquiries, The Center may be reached at 434-974-7756. Or visit: www.cvwg.art.
