Thomas Jefferson described the five years he lived in Paris as among the most memorable of his life. Many of Jefferson’s culinary preferences—that later earned him the nickname of “America’s founding foodie”—were formed during his time in France.

Join Monticello for a cooking adventure through French brasserie fare with Monticello Farm Table’s Chef David Bastide. Chef Bastide, a native of southern France, will use ingredients grown locally and harvested from Monticello’s own gardens during this live cooking class. Participants will receive the menu, recipes, and wine pairing suggestions two weeks before the event.
