Wine Enthusiast has honored the Charlottesville region’s Monticello AVA as the Wine Region of the Year in their 2023 Wine Star Awards. Judging was based on a variety of criteria, such as trendsetting, brand vision and impact on consumers and trade in the wine world.
The Wine Star Awards honor innovators that have made a major impact on the wine and alcohol industries’ success. “They say overnight success takes many years to achieve,” said Monticello Wine Trail President Stephen Barnard. “I think a lot is owed to…others for laying the foundation. That has allowed the current generation of incredibly talented individuals to tap into that knowledge base and propel this industry forward…I could not be more proud and happy for all those involved.”

She moved into graphic design and art direction when she relocated to Charlottesville in 1994. As our company’s co-founder and visionary, she enjoys all aspects of storytelling.
